We’re at it again!
As many of you know we ran our first “pilot” trip this past May to rave revues. (see a video HERE) We’re ready to do another one! Come join Adirondack Hamlets to Huts (AHH) on one of two fall pilot test runs of the Historic Great Camp Traverse and provide us with important feedback. The Historic Great Camp Traverse is primarily a paddling excursion that includes a short hike up a scenic mountain on the first full day and an optional mountain bike ride the fourth day. These pilot trips involve the same route and only differ in some of the places of lodging. Both include a night’s stay at the Hedges on Blue Mountain Lake and the Great Camp Sagamore. Each trip also includes a dinner cruise on Raquette Lake aboard the W.W. Durant and tours of both Camp Pine Knot, the first Adirondack great camp, and Great Camp Sagamore!
We’re offering two trips. The first Historic Great Camp Traverse will run from the evening of September 20th through the morning of September 25th. The second Historic Great Camp Traverse will run from the evening of September 30th through the morning of October 5th.
We will spend three days paddling from Blue Mountain Lake to Great Camp Sagamore, with a day hike up modest but beautiful Castlerock Mountain the first day and a mile-plus hike on the third day to Great Camp Sagamore from where we will land our boats on the South Inlet. On the fourth and final day, trekkers will have the option to paddle back down the South Inlet to the hamlet of Raquette Lake or a pedal a challenging intermediate mountain bike ride of approximately 15 miles from Great Camp Sagamore to the hamlet of Raquette Lake.
Cost: $800 which includes food, lodging, and two guides. This cost presumes double occupancy in some of the lodging reserved. Arrangements for upgrades can be made for those wishing strictly single occupancy. This price DOES NOT INCLUDE equipment rental fees should any trekker need to rent a canoe, kayak, or bike. We encourage folks to BRING THEIR OWN boats and bikes. AHH seeks important feedback from a group of 10 people looking to enjoy fall foliage while plying some of the finest waters in the Adirondacks. These guided trips will provide great exposure to the wonderful natural and cultural history that makes the Adirondacks so special and a world-class destination!
A deposit of $400.00, subject to our refund policy*, is needed when you register. The balance of $400.00 is due on August 24th.

Come have an awesome time and be a part of something special! There are only 10 spots available on each of the Pilot Trips. Let us know if you have any questions.
Note: This trip will provide participants with a genuine impression of the types of recreation experiences that future Adirondack Hamlets to Huts routes will provide as many of the elements of the Historic Great Camp Traverse are in place. As a “pilot trip,” however, this trip is not an exact replication of the eventual hamlet to hut route as some components are still being developed. This trip and the test-run trekkers will provide Adirondack Hamlets to Huts valuable feedback as we move forward with route development.
Thank you for your continued support of Adirondack Hamlets to Huts. We hope you can join us for a great fall trip checking out the woods, mountains, lakes, and rivers of the amazing Adirondacks!
*Terms of Service: Trip participants will be required to sign a liability waiver and a medical history. An optional photo release form will also be available for signature. Reservations require a 50% deposit, non-refundable unless the spot can be filled.
