59 planned routes. Journeys from two days to two weeks. Whatever you’re looking for, there’s an adventure out there just for you. And a bed to sleep on every night.
Over the past three years, we’ve scoured maps, hit the trails and gone door-to-door to meet neighbors, business owners and other community members. The result: A collection of routes suitable for everyone from first-time overnighters to seasoned backcountry travelers that connect great adventures with great lodging.
Depending on the route you pick, your trail might follow an old logging road, go over open rock to an Adirondack summit, or wind alongside a mountain stream. When you stop for the night, you’ll stay at a platform tent, yurt, cabin, lodge, bed and breakfast, inn, hotel, or another privately owned establishments. You’ll either enjoy full-service dining or cook for yourself in fully outfitted kitchens.
Some of the routes, like our first, are circuits that start and end in the same place. Others begin in one community and finish in another. They all have one thing in common: They give you a chance to hike, bike, ski, and paddle all over the Adirondacks, experiencing the people and communities that make this 6-million-acre park a lot more than just a wild place.
